RUTH DE KRIVOY

   
Ruth de Krivoy was born in Venezuela. She currently serves as President of Síntesis Financiera, a financial consulting firm in Caracas, Venezuela. Her former positions include: President of the Central Bank of Venezuela (1992-1994); member of Venezuelan official commissions on State Reform, Foreign Public Sector Debt Refinancing and Fiscal Reform; Chairperson, Venezuelan Presidential Commission on Industrial Competitiveness; member of numerous Venezuelan official and private sector international missions; Professor and Chair, Department of Monetary Theory and Policy, Faculty of Economics, Central University of Venezuela. Currently Advisor to the Financial Stability Institute, BIS; Member, Executive Board and Advisory Board on Banking, Toronto International Center for Leadership in Financial Supervision; former Chairperson, Latin American Shadow Financial Regulatory Committee. Lecturer on monetary policy and financial topics. Authored papers on monetary and financial topics, and the book "Collapse: the Venezuelan banking crisis of 1994" published by The Group of Thirty, Washington, D.C. She earned her degree in Economics at Universidad Central de Venezuela, Summa Cum Laude, 1964.
